Hideaway, Davies Bay is our favourite place. It is a piece of paradise that our family has been privileged to access for thirty years. Our children grew up learning to fish, snorkel, dive, kayak and play around in boats in the beautiful bay. Our son and daughter-in-law met on the beach. Now, the next generation, our six grandchildren, call it ‘our beach’ and they are learning to respect and love it as we do.
Imagine waking up to the murmuring of the waves lapping the beach just 100 metres from your bed, strolling down to the sand & being the first to leave your footprints as you wander the beach looking for nature’s treasures; be it the native seabirds like the Godwits, Terns, Oystercatchers, the many shells or perhaps the interesting stones that catch children’s imagination or even some lost treasure that has washed up during the tide. Somewhere safe for the children or grandchildren with comfortable accommodation & space to enjoy an evening get together for a meal, sharing in a bounty of seafood gathered during the day and cooked al fresco. Somewhere for sharing the various experiences; exploring the rocks, hiking on the farm, kayaking with the dolphins, swimming, snorkelling, glorious diving or fishing from the rocky ledges or a boat. Then under a setting sun, being the last to leave your footprints in the sand again as the evening settles into night.
That’s the place our family & friends have loved for over 30 years. It is now a special place for our grandchildren. It’s there to enjoy.
The property hosts continue to welcome people who want to experience the splendour of their unique environment. They have done an extensive upgrade of the accommodation facilities which allows for more people to sleep in accommodation that now boasts an extra bedroom and a large, comfortable lounge/living space. The new deck, in addition to the older deck, has created more shade and space for outdoor gatherings; perfect for enjoying good food, drink and company after an active or relaxing day in a very special place.
